Seasonal Gardener
Needed:
Monday through Friday 8am-4pm, some weekends 10am-5pm March 19th -October 31st
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist with the planting and routine care of a wide variety of ornamental plants, aquatic culture, watering, fertilizing, general clean-up including weeding, pruning, grooming, staking and deadheading to maintain a superior garden appearance at all times.
· Learn landscaping, including the safe use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
· Participate in lecture series with Garden Staff.

· Dependable and willing to commit to a schedule.
· Ability to work well in a team environment, as well as independently.
· Ability to listen, learn and follow detailed directions with accuracy.
· Mature and responsible work attitude, as well as reliable, organized work habits.
· Ability to work in a setting with multiple constituents: visitors, staff, board members
and volunteers.
· Enthusiasm for goals and mission of Ladew Topiary Gardens.
Requirements:
· Minimum age of 18 years.
· Ability to perform tasks of a physical nature (often demanding), including
lifting and kneeling; and to work outdoors in a variety of weather
conditions (heat, humidity, cold).
· Neat, solid colored shirts, slacks or shorts and appropriate shoes should be worn.
· All staff including seasonal position are expected to follow the rules of the gardens and meet the employment standards as stated in the employee hand book.
· Valid driver’s license and social security card.
Training:
Seasonal position will receive thorough on-the-job training for each task, including safety procedures.
Comments:
Previous experience in garden maintenance is helpful.
